Marketers know that article marketing works for attracting traffic, building a reputation, and making sales. However, just knowing that means nothing. Creating a successful article marketing campaign is a different story altogether. All successful article marketing campaigns require: work, effort, and a bit of savvy. There’s much more to it than writing three or four hundred words and publishing it somewhere. So be sure to read the following so you’ll get off on the right track and build your business the right way.

The longer articles should be saved for your own website. So then all your shorter articles can be used for other sites and published to article directories, etc. You’ll find the most readers will get bored after about 300 words, roughly. The rest almost never read more than 500 words at a time. The readers at article directories tend to be looking for quick and fast information. Another reason to cut down the length of your articles is that doing so will help you create a more extensive article package. So rather than taking all your information and putting it into several articles, you can create a much longer series. A more extensive package will allow you to build more backlinks, and you’ll be drawing in more readers.

Only submit a few of your articles each day. Yes, the temptation exists to submit them all on the same day to get traffic rolling in. This practice will only serve to work against your goals. This will cause your articles to ultimately be seen less. You’ll also have to deal with the daily limits imposed by the directories and other sites.

Another good reason to limit submissions is that you’ll soon be seen as a reliable source of information. You’ll be viewed as someone who’s always working and learning your subject, and then people will begin to trust you for that. You’ll be viewed with more authority as opposed to a person who only submits many for a very short time.

Also, you can’t make your articles sound like they’re just sales pitches, and directories will frown upon that, too. If all you talk about in your article is how great your product is and insert lots of links to your websites, you are more likely to get banned than you are to make sales. If you offer credible and useful information in your article, then your resource box at the end will do the rest. The sales will create themselves when your readers are impressed with what you’ve given them.

There are a lot of ways to approach article marketing. So many marketers who have never done article writing have no idea of what it really takes to write a successful article campaign. For example, writing fewer high quality articles is much better than writing a hundred poor articles. No worries though, you’ll get better with the more practice you have.
